3 things you can do to make extra cash (pt 3)

This third suggestion is a little out of the ordinary, and really only applies to readers in the UK (as far as I know).

If you live in a house with a driveway, why not rent out your parking space?

A company called Cheap and Easy Parking sell parking online (at the minute just around the London area) using private driveways and car parks. The parkers pay £10 per day and the company takes 30% leaving the driveway owner with £7 a day. This may not sound like a lot, but if you think about it, you have a product that you can sell again and again, every day, and if your house is near a tube station, or location of interest you could earn a decent regular income.

If you agree to overnight parking, they also sell parking for 24 hour periods, for a higher rate. I know of one lady who recently had a 10 day booking, making her over £100 for doing nothing more than having a car on her driveway, which she doesn’t use anyway!

I will admit to a personal involvement here, as some friends of mine run the company, but it is still a great way to earn money for doing very little.

They don’t accept any old parking space though..no allocated spaces in blocks of flats, nothing behind barriers and if a driveway looks too shoddy it will be rejected, (you have to supply a digital photo on application).

If you visit the Cheap and Easy Parking website you can read the full explanation of how it works, and even find some cheap parking for your next trip to London. £10 per day is very cheap, bearing in mind most parking meters in central London are about £6 per hour.

I’ll be posting more money making tips in the near future.
